In addition to the public vote, each national director chooses their Person of the Year, someone who embodies Slow Food values.

Steve Guy says that “Everyone deserves good food, I want to make food accessible to everyone”. Slow Food Cooks Alliance member and champion of the Slow Food Ark of Taste, Steve reimagines what good food looks like, and who it’s for – everyone. Every thursday in June he cooked restaurant quality food for 70, for free, for the community as part of Time for Lunch. He is constantly looking to incorporate surplus food into his menus – tackling food waste and the climate crisis. Passionate about education, and the pleasure of food, there could be no other winner for 2023.
