We are relaunching the presence of Slow Food in Sussex.
Members at a virtual meeting in May 2025 discussed three main topic areas.
First, the forthcoming changes to local government and some of the implications this might have for Slow Food thinking as applied in Sussex. Of particular importance will be the creation of a new tier of mayoral government over the whole of the current geographical area of East and West Sussex and the City of Brighton and Hove.
Second, Slow Food itself as an organisation and a movement and how it is distinguishable from other local groups and organisations within the food community.
Third, some of the practical considerations that will need to be in place going forward.
An interim leadership team was appointed to look at governance and operational process to ensure that Slow Food in Sussex goes forward both effectively and ethically.
